If you have trees and are considering selling them, Barbers Sawmill is interested in all grades and species of native forest Eucalyptus hardwood logs.
Preferred tree species:
- White Top (E. delegatensis)
- Mountain Ash / Swamp Gum (E. regnans)
- Brown Top (E. obliqua)
- Mountain White Gum (E. dalrympleana)
All other Eucalyptus species considered.
NO PINE LOGS considered.
Sawlog Processing
All sawlogs’ purchases are fully processed here in Tasmania providing local jobs as well as supplying timber for local use.
By using unique sawing patterns, it can value-add lower-grade logs, producing valuable timber from logs previously sent for woodchip.
Barbers Sawmill continues to process high-grade logs to maximum value while meeting the requirements of our loyal customers.
The private sawlogs complement our supply of sawlogs from State forests.
Sawlog Harvesting Services
To provide an easy path for the sale of your trees Barbers Sawmill can provide any or all of the following services:
- Harvest planning, by a certified forester.
- Documentation preparation
- Harvesting contractors
- Haulage contractors
- Arrange sales of all harvested non-sawlog trees.
By utilising the services provided by Barbers Sawmill the sawlogs harvested will be Chain of Custody (CoC) certified under the PEFC system.
Pricing
Barbers Sawmill prides itself on being able to pay top prices in a competitive market, for all sawlog grades, while supporting the Tasmanian economy.
Prices paid are generally by negotiation or offers.
Pricing ranges from a stumpage payment to a mill door price, depending on the services provided. Prices can be either per tonne or cubic metre, decided during negotiation.
